- Belbeis has ancient historical roots. In the past, Belbeis was mentioned in the Taurat as (Jashan). The Prophet “Jacob”, peace be upon him, came down when he came to Egypt to meet his son, “Yusef”, peace be upon him.
- It was the entrance of the Arabs to Egypt at the time of the Islamic conquest, as it opened its arms to receive its soldiers so that they could rid Egypt from the oppression of the Romans. In 1871 AD it was called Belbeis Center, and it is one of the most famous cities of Al Sharkia.
