Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Sharkia Governor, chaired the Executive Council meeting to discuss a number of important files and topics that benefit citizens. The meeting was attended by Eng. Lobna Abdel Aziz, Deputy Governor; Major General Abdel Ghaffar El-Deeb, Secretary General; Mr. Mohamed Nehme Kojok, Assistant Secretary General of the Governorate; directors of service directorates, agencies, and companies; heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods; directors of general and specialized departments; and directors of property departments in centers, cities, and neighborhoods. The meeting was held in the General Diwan meeting hall.
The governor began the meeting by congratulating His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the approaching Eid al-Adha, saying, "We pledge to you, Your Excellency, that we will always live up to our responsibilities and perform our work with sincerity and dedication. We pray to God Almighty to protect Egypt and grant the great Egyptian people continued security, stability, and prosperity." The governor issued strict instructions to the heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods, in coordination with the Supply Investigations Department and the Supply, Health, and Veterinary Medicine Directorates, to intensify supply and inspection campaigns in markets, shops, and meat stalls. This is to tighten control and oversight, and ensure the validity of the meat on display, out of concern for the public health of citizens. He also ordered the continuous monitoring of gas stations within the governorate, as well as bakeries, to ensure they operate at full capacity during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The governor also directed the Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate to raise the state of emergency in the directorate and prepare well for Eid al-Adha. He also directed the opening of government slaughterhouses during the Eid holidays for free slaughter of sacrificial animals. He also directed the slaughterhouses to be supplied with detergents, disinfectants, and protective clothing so that slaughtering is carried out in accordance with veterinary medical procedures and Islamic law.
The governor also instructed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health to raise the level of maximum preparedness in all hospitals and service outlets by ensuring the presence of hospital directors or their deputies around the clock, prohibiting vacations, and increasing the number of medical teams on shifts and night shifts, especially in critical departments such as reception, emergency, intensive care, and nurseries, to quickly respond to critical and emergency cases. He also intensified inspection campaigns to monitor illegal drug addiction treatment centers and take necessary legal action against violators.
