Engineer Hazem El Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, emphasized the importance of the wheat crop, which is considered one of the most important strategic crops in the governorate due to its nutritional value and its economic income, as it stimulates the food industry as being a raw material for many food industries and a major commodity in the domestic and foreign trade.
For his side, Eng. Abdel Karim Awadallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, explained that 2,967 tons and 182 kilos of wheat were supplied yesterday, as the total amount of wheat that has been supplied to the storage sites within the governorate so far today reached 569,893 tons and 762 kilos.
In a related context, Eng. Emad Mohamed Gengen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, clarified the necessity for farmers to commit in supplying the wheat to the developed silos and barns which are designated for this purpose to prevent loss, as he stressed that the state spares no effort in caring for the farmers and providing them with all the facilities from the beginning of the harvest until the supply of the crop.
