Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, inspected the paving and upgrading of several internal streets in the Teachers' Compound area in Zagazig City, covering a total area of 4 km and an average width of 8 m. The project, which cost EGP 14,990,000, was implemented by Sinai Development Authority to ensure a sound infrastructure in the roads sector and provide better services to the area's residents. This project is in line with the governorate's development and beautification plan, which aims to restore the aesthetic and civilized appearance of its cities.
The governor was briefed by Eng. Ahmed Fawzy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, on the nature of the ongoing work. He noted that paving and upgrading work is underway on several internal streets in Al Moalmin area of Zagazig, covering a total area of 4 km and an average width of 8 m. The work included laying vermicelli and laying a 6 cm thick base layer, in preparation for the final asphalt layer. Quality standards were observed in the paving and development work, adhering to the specified engineering specifications. Work is scheduled to be completed by the end of next June, at a total cost of EGP 14,990,000.
Eng. Ahmed Ragab of Sinai Development Authority indicated that the surface layer has been completed over an area of 3.7 km, and that work is being doubled and shifts intensified to expedite the completion of all work. The locations of rainwater drains and sewage drains were also taken into account. The governor assured the head of the First District that he will continue to monitor the company assigned to implement the work and create the appropriate environment for it to expedite completion according to the specified schedule and improve all services provided to citizens.
The governor praised the Sinai Development Authority's efforts to improve infrastructure and implement paving and coating projects in cooperation with the heads of the relevant centers, cities, and service directorates. He emphasized that Sharkia is witnessing a real boom in the paving sector, in line with the development and beautification plan currently being implemented in the governorate's cities. |
