Title:Governor of Sharkia: Wheat supply system operating smoothly at governorate silos and barns

Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, confirmed the regular operation of the local wheat supply system at all storage sites in the governorate. The system has been regularly collecting and storing wheat from suppliers and farmers since the beginning of 2025 wheat supply season. He explained that 27,127 tons and 845 kilograms of wheat were supplied yesterday, bringing the total amount of local wheat supplied to date to 286,686 tons and 448 kilograms. For his part, Eng. Emad Mohamed Gengen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, explained that the wheat harvest has reached 184,217 acres so far, noting that the area planted with wheat this year amounted to 370,183 acres. He pointed out that the demonstration fields planted in the various centers and cities of the governorate varied between: - Old lands (individual fields): 56 fields - New lands (individual fields): 7 fields with an area of ​​​​one acre - Demonstration fields in fish farms (15 fish ponds with an area of ​​​​410 acres) · Saline lands (individual fields): 8 fields In a parallel context, Eng. Abdel Karim Awadallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, indicated that storage conditions include receiving wheat in metal, cement, field silos, bunkers, hangars, and cement and asphalt barns that meet storage conditions and are inspected by the relevant Supply Directorate, as well as committees formed by the relevant authorities to inspect the barns (the relevant Supply Directorate, the Ministry of Supply, and the General Authority for Agricultural Development). Food Safety - General Authority for Supply Commodities - Marketing Agencies affiliated with it (Al-Shuna), and sending inspection forms to the Ministry approved by the Director of the Directorate, indicating its suitability for storing local wheat and the storage capacity (ton/wheat) before the start of the supply season, for approval by the Higher Committee for Receiving Local Wheat for the 2025 season.
