Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia Governorate, emphasized the important role played by the Agriculture and Supply Directorates in following up on the wheat harvest and supply process with the farmers across the governorate, assisting them in delivering the crop to storage silos fast, as he directed the relevant authorities to remove all the obstacles that may face farmers to achieve the largest supply quantity this year.
For his side, Eng. Abdel Karim Awadallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, explained that 26,111 tons and 642 kilos of wheat were supplied yesterday, as the total amount of wheat that has been supplied to the storage sites within the governorate so far reached 259,558 tons and 603 kilos.
In a related context, Eng. Emad Mohamed Gengen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, explained that the wheat that has been harvested reached 175,500 acres so far, noting that the area of wheat which is being planted this year has reached 370,183 acres. He pointed out the necessity for farmers to commit in supplying the wheat to the developed silos and barns which are designated for this purpose to prevent loss, as he stressed that the state spares no effort in caring for the farmers and providing them with all the facilities from the beginning of the harvest until the supply of the crop.
