Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, inspected the Metal Silos in Zagazig city, which is affiliated to the East Delta Mills Company in Zagazig, which is on an area of ​​11,525 square meters and have a capacity of 30,000 tons of wheat as they include six cells, each one with a capacity of 5,000 tons; in order to monitor the regularity of Wheat supply operations.

The governor inspected the sorting and cleanliness of the wheat, conducted by the officials from the National Food Safety Authority and listened from the officials of the silo about the stages of wheat supply and storage and the mechanism for paying the financial dues to the suppliers and farmers.

The Governor of Al-Sharkia emphasized the need to verify the quality of the imported wheat and monitor the storage conditions in barns and silos. He noted that a committee has been formed from the Ministry of Supply, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food Safety Authority to inspect and visit the 56 government and privately developed silos and barns within the governorate. These storage sites include 13 silos, 42 barns and one bunker, with a total storage capacity of 759,376 tons. The objective is to assess their readiness to receive new wheat and ensure they comply with all necessary storage requirements in a proper and safe manner. He noted that the total amount of local wheat supplied so far has reached approximately 233,446 tons and 960 kilograms of wheat since the start of the wheat supply season.
