Title:Executive council discusses Sharkia's Preparations for Eid al-Fitr
News Date:March 25, 2025
Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, emphasized the need for thorough preparations for Eid al-Fitr by intensifying cleaning campaigns and removing encroachments from streets, public squares, and areas surrounding mosques, prayer areas, parks, and public gardens to create a suitable atmosphere for citizens to spend the Eid holiday. The governor also urged the heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods to coordinate with the Agriculture Directorate and firmly address the phenomenon of encroachment on agricultural and state-owned land. He also urged them to work to eliminate violations before they escalate and become difficult-to-manage concrete blocks. He also emphasized the need to increase the level of preparedness of drinking water and sanitation facilities to deal with any emergency situations during the Eid holiday. During the meeting, the governor instructed the heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods to coordinate with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments to prepare the 796 designated areas for Eid al-Fitr prayers. They also intensified cleaning campaigns in the streets, squares, and surrounding mosques, which will host Eid prayers in a total of 5,000 mosques. This will create a conducive environment for citizens and visitors to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The governor instructed the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health to raise the level of readiness to the maximum in all hospitals and service outlets by ensuring the presence of hospital directors or their deputies around the clock, prohibiting vacations, and increasing the number of medical teams on shifts and night shifts, especially in critical departments such as reception, emergency, intensive care, and nurseries, to quickly respond to critical and emergency cases. Inspection campaigns will also be intensified to monitor violating addiction treatment centers and take the necessary legal action against violators.
