Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, held a meeting in his office at General Diwan, with Major General Abdel Ghaffar El-Deeb, Secretary-General of the governorate, Mr. Mohamed Kajak, Assistant Secretary-General of Governorate, Eng. Ahmed Fawzy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, Ms. Horia Abdullah, manager of Planning and Follow-up administration at General Diwan, and Eng. Mohamed Salah, Head of the Projects Sector at Roads and Transport Directorate, in order to review and discuss some proposals for implementing a number of new traffic axes in centers and cities to decrease the traffic congestion and resolve multiple traffic crises in the vital areas and to facilitate the citizens' daily movements.
The governor began the meeting by stressing that the governorate is serious about implementing the development and beautification plan, creating new traffic axes and establishing alternative roads that contribute in saving time and effort and improving the visual image for travelers.
During the meeting, a number of proposals were reviewed for establishing new traffic axes in various centers and cities of the governorate, in addition to developing, raising the efficiency and paving the road network and current traffic axes to expand them and contribute in solving the problem of traffic congestion within the cities, especially during rush hours.
At the end of the meeting, the Governor stressed the need to ensure that all the vital facilities are connected to the streets and roads that are being developed, in coordination with the Infrastructure Information Systems Department at General Diwan, in order to preserve the public funds.
