Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Al Sharkia, confirmed that the governorate is serious about implementing the development and beautification plan in the various centers and cities of the governorate and seeks to open new traffic axes that contribute solving traffic congestion within cities and work to reduce congestion in them, in addition to intensifying cleaning work, removing occupations, and providing the best services to citizens.
This came during his inspection tour of the proposed new traffic axes in Zagazig city to discuss them on the ground in preparation for starting their implementation to solve the problem of traffic congestion within the city, especially during rush hours, taking into account saving effort and time and not disrupting the interests of citizens, in addition to improving the visual image and opening new paths for development under the new republic.
The governor's tour began by following up on the development and efficiency-raising work in progress on the pedestrian sidewalk in front of the Zagazig University wall on Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Gamal Abdel Nasser streets with an average width of 2.5 m and at a cost of 2 million pounds, which comes in line with the development and beautification plan witnessed by the cities of the governorate and to provide a safe walkway for citizens and university students.
El-Ashmouny stressed the head of the second district, in coordination with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, to follow up on the company assigned to implement the works and oblige it to apply the standard specifications to quickly complete the works according to the specified schedule.
The governor headed to inspect the new traffic proposal on Al-Mansheya Street and its extension linking the Zagazig/ Mit Ghamr Road, passing through the Ikoh Bank Road, reaching Zagazig / Diarb Negm Road, with a length of 900 m, to inspect it in person and start preparing the necessary measurements for paving and development works and benefit from it as a new traffic axis that contributes to relieving traffic congestion within Zagazig.
The governor concluded his tour by inspecting the proposal to develop, raise the efficiency and pave Saad Zaghloul Street, starting from the Zagazig University Bridge, reaching Orabi Square, with a length of 3 km, which is one of the main and important streets within the city of Zagazig, stressing the need to quickly complete the necessary measurements to start development works and restore the aesthetic and civilized appearance of the street.
