Title:Environmental Affairs Agency in Al Sharkia issues five misdemeanors for industrial and food establishments

Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Al Sharkia Governor, stressed the necessity of intensifying sudden inspection and control campaigns on markets, shops, factories, warehouses and gas stations to ensure the validity of the supply and the extent of its compliance with standard specifications and health requirements and to ensure that commercial activity is managed with legal and environmental licenses from the competent authorities, as well as ensuring the safe disposal of dangerous waste, applying the law to violators, and taking all necessary legal measures against them. In this context, the Environmental Inspection Department of the Environmental Affairs Agency branch, in coordination with the General Administration of the Environment and Water Bodies Police and in partnership with the General Authority for Industrial Development, launched a surprise campaign to visit and inspect industrial and food establishments, workshops and restaurants in the centers (Belbeis- Zagazig- Faqus) to ensure the implementation of these measures are to adhered to environmental and health requirements for the safe disposal of waste, not mixing them, and not having emissions that harm human health and the surrounding environment. The campaign resulted in issuing five misdemeanors to violating establishments. For his part, Dr. Magdy Al-Hosary, head of the regional branch of the Environmental Affairs Agency, indicated that the violations monitored by the campaign in the facilities that were inspected are (lack of a record of serious violations- lack of an environmental record- waste collection room not conforming to environmental requirements- failure to separate waste Hazardous solid waste- lack of a room for solid waste- expiration of the license to handle hazardous waste) and legal measures were taken and reports were issued regarding violations.
