Eng. Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Al-Sharkia Governor, confirmed that the governorate is serious about implementing the mandates and directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, to advance the health sector, relieve the suffering of patients, and provide them with a distinctive health and treatment service.
This came during his inspection visit to follow up on the progress of work at Abu Kabir Central Hospital and determine the level of health and treatment services provided to patients and those visiting the hospital, in the presence of Eng. Lubni Abdel Aziz, Deputy Governor, Dr. Hisham Masoud, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mr. Ahmed Hamdi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and Mr. Al Sayed Abdel Razek, head of Abu Kabir Center and City, Dr. Amira Abdullah, Director of Abu Kabir Central Hospital, Major General Abdullah Lashin, Mr. Nabil Askar, and Mr. Nader Mustafa, members of the House of Representatives.
The governor began his inspection tour by following up on the progress of work in the hospital’s reception and emergency department, which includes 10 beds and receives at least 5,500 medical cases, as well as accident injuries, per month, in order to provide examination and diagnosis services and then transfer to the appropriate department within the hospital to complete the treatment phase.
The governor reassured the health status of a number of patients in the department and inquired from them about the level of service provided to them, stressing that citizen health is a priority on the executive work agenda and we strive to reach a safe and sound healthy community that participates in building and developing the nation.
The governor was keen to inspect the pharmacy in the reception and emergency department and inquired from the pharmacists about the availability of medicines and serums, stressing the need to ensure that they are stored in a safe manner, while periodically reviewing the expiration dates written on them.
He was reassured by the hospital director of the sufficient availability of medicines and medical supplies, dispensing them for sick cases, and providing decent service and medical care for them. The governor also followed up on the progress of work at the dialysis unit, which includes 68 dialysis machines that provide service to 209 patients per month, including 6 machines designated for Hepatitis C patients, frequented by 24 patients, and 62 machines for various cases, with a total number of 2,373 sessions per month.
The governor confirmed that the hospital administration director is constantly conducting maintenance work on the devices used on a regular basis to preserve the lives of patients.
