Al-Sharkia Governor Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny attended the launch of the First International Scientific Conference of Al-Azhar Girls’ Faculty in 10th of Ramadan City, titled “Integrating Sciences to Promote Islamic Moderation and Counter Intellectual Extremism in the Digital Age,” under the patronage of Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb, and in the presence of Egypt’s Grand Mufti Dr. Nazir Ayyad and Al-Azhar University President Dr. Mahmoud Seddik, alongside academic leaders and researchers.

The Governor stressed the importance of scientific conferences in exchanging expertise, promoting sound awareness, countering extremist ideas, and using digital tools to spread knowledge while upholding religious values and moderation. He praised Al-Azhar’s historic role in promoting enlightened thought, dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.

He also highlighted the state’s commitment to building people and protecting society from harmful ideas, emphasizing the role of university students in confronting rumors and verifying information. He noted that Sharqia Governorate has launched its official digital application to improve communication with citizens and facilitate access to information and services.

The Governor concluded by reaffirming support for cooperation with educational, religious, and cultural institutions to promote awareness, citizenship, and a more cohesive society.
