Al-Sharkia Governor Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny received Sheikh Ali Gouda, Director General of the Sharqia Religious Guidance District, and his delegation to discuss cooperation with Al-Azhar’s Islamic Research Academy and the Directorates of Awqaf and Youth and Sports to organize religious awareness convoys in mosques and youth centers across the governorate.

The convoys aim to promote moderate Islamic thought, strengthen moral values and positive behaviors, correct misconceptions, and address undesirable social practices. The Governor praised Al-Azhar’s historic role in promoting moderation, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence, affirming the Governorate’s continued support for its awareness and outreach activities.

Sheikh Ali Gouda highlighted Al-Azhar’s efforts to raise community awareness and counter extremist ideas. He announced that the convoys will run from October 10 to 17, 2026, across several cities and districts, covering topics including good role models, kind speech, the virtue of knowledge, the status of martyrs in Islam, and the merit of gathering with righteous people.
