Title:Al-Sharkia Governor Meets Head of the Sinai and Canal Cities Reconstruction Authority to Review Ongoing Projects and Discuss New Development Initiatives

Eng. Hazem El Ashmouny, Governor of Sharqia, received Major General Eng. Ahmed Fathy El Sewify, Executive Chairman of the Sinai and Canal Cities Reconstruction Authority, and his accompanying delegation, to review the implementation status of ongoing projects across the governorate, address the challenges facing them, and discuss visions and proposals for new projects planned for the coming period. The meeting aimed to support development plans and improve the level of services provided to citizens. The meeting was attended by Eng. Ahmed Fawzy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Roads in Sharqia; Eng. Howaida Shamis, Head of the Central Administration for Project Planning at the Sinai and Canal Cities Reconstruction Authority; and Eng. Rania Abdel Fattah, Head of the Ismailia Reconstruction Area at the Authority.

Governor El Ashmouny welcomed the visit of the Executive Chairman and his delegation, expressing his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the governorate and the Authority in implementing a number of development and service projects across Sharqia. He stressed the importance of continued coordination and integrated efforts among all concerned authorities to accelerate implementation, complete projects according to the scheduled timelines, and put them into service for the benefit of citizens.

The meeting also addressed the need to promptly complete the procedures required for constructing retaining walls in several locations, as well as constructing retaining walls along deteriorated sections of the Abu Al-Akhdar Canal embankment over a length of 2.5 kilometers. The meeting also reviewed the status of covering Al-Na’amana Drain in Bani Hilal Village, Minya Al-Qamh, in preparation for completing the expansion and paving of the Abu Hakam–Tarout–Mit Abu Ali–Bani Hilal Road, which will help connect the Regional Ring Road with the Zagazig Road.

Governor El Ashmouny pointed out that Sharqia is currently carrying out the construction and expansion of two major road corridors: the Abu Hakam–Minya Al-Qamh Corridor, implemented by the Roads Directorate in coordination with the Sinai and Canal Cities Reconstruction Authority, and the Tel Rozn–Belbeis Corridor, implemented by the General Authority for Roads and Bridges in coordination with the governorate. He noted that the two corridors will open important new traffic routes, strengthen connectivity between different areas of the governorate and neighboring governorates, facilitate the movement of citizens and goods, and improve traffic flow.

The Governor affirmed that all necessary support and coordination would be provided to the relevant authorities to complete the ongoing projects across the governorate. He also stressed the need to remove any obstacles that could affect implementation rates, ensuring the projects are completed and put into service as quickly as possible and achieve the intended benefits for citizens.

For his part, Major General Eng. Ahmed Fathy El Sewify, Executive Chairman of the Sinai and Canal Cities Reconstruction Authority, praised the ongoing cooperation and coordination between the Authority and Sharqia Governorate, which contributes to accelerating the completion of service and development projects being implemented by the Authority across the governorate.

The Executive Chairman noted that the Authority’s projects are not limited to roads and transportation corridors, but also extend to several service and development sectors, including youth and sports, healthcare, and other areas aimed at improving the services provided to citizens.

Governor El Ashmouny further stated that a comprehensive inventory would be prepared of all previously signed protocols for implementing projects across the governorate. The inventory will assess the implementation status and completion rates of each project, while efforts will be made to accelerate implementation and remove any obstacles that may arise, ensuring optimal utilization of these projects and achieving their intended development objectives.

The meeting also included discussions on visions and proposals for establishing and implementing new projects across the governorate during the coming period. These projects will be aligned with citizens’ needs and the governorate’s development plans, with the aim of delivering tangible service and development benefits to the people of Sharqia.
