Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, emphasized the importance of intensifying the awareness efforts and community participation and strengthening cooperation with the civil society organizations and NGOs, in order to improve the level of services which are provided to citizens and support vulnerable families.

Highlights of the Al-Sharkia Water and Wastewater Company's efforts during July:

• Implementation of 850 awareness activities in the governorate's centers and cities, targeting approximately 380,500 citizens to educate them on the importance of water conservation, safe disposal of wastewater and the company's services.

• Conducting 80 awareness seminars in cooperation with several entities, in addition to workshops teaching basic plumbing, repair procedures and the installation of water-saving devices.

• Implementation of 450 awareness activities for children and youth during summer programs, in cooperation with the Directorates of Youth and Sports, Education and the General Authority for Cultural Palaces. These activities included games and interactive activities to instill the culture of water conservation.
