Title:Al-Sharkia Governor Receives Supreme Medical Committee Head and Egyptian Healing Bank Representative

At the start of their visit to the governorate to monitor the smooth operation of free medical convoys and support efforts to improve the health system in the governorate, Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia, received Dr. Naglaa Abdel Moneim, Head of the Supreme Medical and Appeals Committee at the Cabinet, Dr. Mohamed Mostafa Ismail, member of the Supreme Medical and Appeals Committee at the Cabinet and General Coordinator of Medical Convoys and Civil Society at the Cabinet, and Mr. Mohamed Farghali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Healing Bank Foundation, at his office in the Governorate building.

Governor of Al-Sharqia welcomed the Head of the Supreme Medical and Appeals Committee at the Cabinet and her accompanying delegation, emphasizing that the governorate places great importance on supporting health initiatives and free medical convoys, and is working to strengthen cooperation with state institutions and civil society organizations, which contributes to improving the quality of health services and alleviating the burdens on citizens, especially in the most needy villages and areas.

For her part, the head of the Supreme Medical and Appeals Committee of the Cabinet and the members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the fruitful cooperation with the Sharqia Governorate, stressing the continuation of coordination to implement more health initiatives and free medical convoys, which contributes to providing distinguished treatment services to citizens, and strengthening the partnership with the executive bodies to achieve the best level of health care for the people of the governorate.

The head of the committee added that the Supreme Medical and Appeals Committee of the Cabinet is a cornerstone in supporting the healthcare system, given its pivotal role in rapidly responding to medical appeals and humanitarian cases, issuing decisions for state-funded treatment, and providing medications and prosthetic devices. It also supports patients with brain tumors, bone marrow transplants, lower limb prostheses, and certain critical cases in intensive care, in coordination with government hospitals and those affiliated with the Armed Forces. Furthermore, it contributes to resolving some citizens' treatment-related issues with the General Authority for Health Insurance and specialized medical councils (for state-funded treatment), in addition to organizing comprehensive medical convoys in coordination with civil society organizations, thus ensuring that free medical services reach those who are entitled to them.

During the meeting, the representative of the Egyptian Bank of Healing affirmed that the bank continues to implement free medical convoys across various governorates of the Republic, as part of its social responsibility aimed at expanding healthcare coverage and reaching the most vulnerable groups. He noted that the current convoys cover approximately 44% of the actual targeted needs in all governorates, with efforts underway to increase coverage rates in the coming period. He emphasized that the bank aims to implement 100 medical convoys nationwide this year, in coordination with the Supreme Medical Committee and the Cabinet's Appeals Committee, thus contributing to providing high-quality, free medical and treatment services to citizens in various governorates.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield to the Governor of Sharqia, in appreciation of his efforts and continuous support for the work of the Supreme Medical Committee and the Cabinet's Appeals Committee, and his fruitful cooperation in facilitating the implementation of free medical convoys in the governorate.
