Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, affirmed that the state is paying great attention to improve the health system and developing the hospitals and medical units, which contributes in improving the level of health services provided to citizens and providing the integrated medical care befitting the people of the governorate, as he praised the great efforts made by the medical teams in the Directorate of Health Affairs, and the tangible achievements which has made during the past period in the various health sectors.
Dr. Ahmed El-Baily, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Al-Sharkia Governorate, explained that during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, Al-Sharkia Health Affairs Directorate achieved the top rankings nationwide in the following areas:
· Medical convoys received the highest rating among all the governorates for the 48th month consecutively.
· The directorate achieved the first place nationwide in the "100 Days of Health" initiative and its team was honored by the Ministry of Health and Population in recognition of their perfect efforts in implementing the initiative.
· The state-funded healthcare system achieved excellent results in: "the rate of issuing decisions, the rate of visits by patients with chronic diseases, the rate of review by the tripartite committee and the issuance of decisions and the rate of follow-up on the medication dispensing (new and returning patients)."
· Zagazig Chest Hospital ranked the first nationwide in the Ministry's scientific competition for chest hospitals.
· "Event-based surveillance" was included in the Ministry of Health's evaluation for June 2026.
