Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia, and Major General Hisham Hosni Hassan, Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, inspected the lineup of engineering and technical equipment and vehicles participating in the joint practical training exercise “Saqr 169” to confront crises and disasters, which is being implemented by the governorate in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces, and is being held at almuhlij in Zagazig.
The inspection began with a parade of engineering, medical, and civil defense vehicles, showcasing the high level of competence of the technical and medical support personnel in carrying out their tasks and facing challenges. The Governor and the Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces received a detailed briefing on the topographical and tactical layout of the deployment area, including the axes of equipment deployment, movement mechanisms, and the operational roles assigned to each participating entity.
The Governor and the Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces witnessed the passage of engineering and technical equipment and vehicles belonging to the service directorates, city centers, and companies participating in the training exercise. The equipment was also tested in the field to ensure its technical efficiency and operational readiness.
Governor of Al-Sharkia emphasized that the joint practical exercise "Saqr 169" embodies the Egyptian state's vision of moving from theoretical planning to effective field application. He pointed out that the unprecedented development of the crisis and emergency management system, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the establishment of the unified national network for emergencies and public safety, represent a qualitative leap in supporting the decision-making system and managing emergency situations.
The Commander of the Popular and Military Defense Forces commended the outstanding level of preparation and organization, as well as the readiness of the engineering and technical equipment and vehicles participating in the exercise.
He also praised the level of coordination and integration among the executive bodies and participating entities, and their human and technical capabilities, which enable them to deal efficiently with various emergency situations.
