Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, participated in  the meeting of Zagazig University Council, chaired by Professor Khaled El-Darandaly, President of the University and attended by Professor Ehab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies; Professor Helal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Hanan El-Nahhas, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Sayed Salem, Secretary General of the University and the deans of the faculties. The meeting was held in the university's meeting hall.

The meeting began with the ratification of the previous session and a review of the implementation of its decisions. The agenda was then discussed, which included several topics related to administrative and organizational matters within the university, which aim at supporting the educational process and improving the institutional performance.

The President of Zagazig University commended the efforts of the executive branch in effectively managing the recent wave of severe weather, which contributed in maintaining the public safety and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic throughout the period of the bad weather that affected the governorate.

For his side, the Governor of Al-Sharkia explained that the success of the executive body in dealing with the wave of bad weather came as a result of implementing a comprehensive proactive plan, which included raising the efficiency of the rain drains in the streets and tunnels according to the latest technical standards and the establishment and development of more than 400 rain drains in different areas within the governorate.
