🔷Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, affirmed that the state is giving great attention to the construction and maintenance of mosques, both materially and intellectually.
🔷The Governor praised the efforts of the Ministry of Endowments in expanding the construction, renovation, and restoration of mosques throughout the governorate, which contributes to providing a suitable spiritual environment for citizens and serving the local community.
🔷Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Hamed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Religious Endowments in Sharqia Governorate, explained that, as part of the Ministry's plan to renovate mosques, four mosques were inaugurated yesterday, Friday, January 16, 2026, in various districts of the governorate. This was done in accordance with the directives of His Excellency Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Religious Endowments, at a total cost of 11.5 million Egyptian pounds. The inaugurations included the following mosques:
▪️Al-Tawhid Mosque – Al-Zahraa Village, Zagazig District (maintenance and restoration – cost 700,000 Egyptian pounds).
▪️The Grand Mosque (Ibrahim Al-Barbari) – Al-Rahmaniya Village, Abu Kabir District (maintenance and restoration – cost 800,000 Egyptian pounds).
▪️Al-Nour Mosque – Amrit Village, Abu Hammad District (renovation and replacement – cost 6 million Egyptian pounds).
▪️Kafr Abu Al-Ezz Al-Suds Mosque – Al-Ibrahimia District (renovation and replacement – cost 4 million Egyptian pounds).
🔷The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments in Sharqia added that these openings come within the framework of a comprehensive plan to establish, replace, renovate and maintain mosques in various centers of the governorate, in order to ensure the provision of a suitable faith-based atmosphere for worshippers and to enhance the role of the mosque as a beacon of knowledge and worship and a center for spreading enlightened moderate thought, building the human being and refining behavior. |
