Engineer Hazem Al-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, emphasized the vital role of the Veterinary Directorate in ensuring safe and healthy food of animal origin. He highlighted the vital role of the veterinarians as being the first line of defense for human health, urging them to improve the slaughterhouse system and achieve the highest food safety standards.

In this context, Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Veterinary Directorate, stated that the Burdeen Slaughterhouse, affiliated with Zagazig Veterinary Administration, was inaugurated on January 1, 2026, in presence of Mr. Shaaban Abu El-Fotouh, Head of Zagazig City Council. The inauguration has been done after the completion of its upgrade and development, which cost around 55,000 L.E and was funded through community efforts.
