Title:Governor of Sharkia inspects public taxi stands in Minya al-Qamh and Zagazig.
News Date:October 18, 2025
Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, visited Minya al-Qamh/Benha/Aboud bus station to ensure drivers' compliance with the new fare. The new fare was approved by the governorate following the decision of the Automatic Pricing Committee for Petroleum Products to adjust fuel prices in line with global prices. The governor met with a number of citizens at the bus stand and inquired about the drivers' compliance with the new fare, which takes into account the social dimensions of citizens and low-income individuals. He emphasized that taxi drivers must adhere to the new fare and not burden passengers with any additional burdens. El-Ashmouny instructed the Director of the General Administration of Parking, in constant and continuous coordination with the Traffic Department and the heads of centers and cities, to launch surprise campaigns on bus stands and roads to monitor the regularity of taxi traffic, their designated routes, and the number of passengers in each vehicle. He emphasized the need to seize violating vehicles and take deterrent legal action against them. The governor visited Zagazig Public Bus Station in Al-Ahrar area to monitor the smooth flow of traffic. He was there to ensure the new fares were being implemented. He also ensured that large signs were placed at the bus station and taxis were clearly labeled with the new fares, the vehicle's route, and the number of passengers. He emphasized the need to take all legal action against drivers who fail to comply with the new fares. The governor inquired with passengers about the drivers' compliance with the new fares, emphasizing the need to disregard violators and report them immediately by calling the hotline: 055-2303693 or 114 (the National Emergency and Public Safety Network's 24-hour control center) and the government complaints hotline at 16528, to take all necessary legal action against them.
