Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, performed the funeral prayer for the late Islamic scholar, Professor Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, a member of the Senior Scholars Authority at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and former President of Al-Azhar University in his hometown of Bani Amer, which is affiliated to Zagazig Center.

The Governor offered his condolences to Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Hashem, a member of the House of Representatives and to the family of the deceased praying to God Almighty to bestow His mercy upon him and to grant him a place in Paradise. He also offered his sincere condolences, patience and solace to the family.

The Governor affirmed that the deceased was a prominent figure at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and one of the leading scholars of Hadith of his time and contributed in enriching the Islamic library with his writings, which strengthened Al-Azhar's status and leadership.

For their part, the family of the deceased expressed their appreciation to the Governor of Al-Sharkia for his condolences on the passing of their beloved scholar.
