Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, mourned the passing of the eminent scholar Prof. Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, member of the Council of Senior Scholars at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and former President of Al-Azhar University. Hashem passed away after a long journey of dedication, spreading knowledge and advocating for the tolerant religion, characterized by sincerity in fulfilling his noble mission. The governor affirmed that the late scholar was a distinguished scholar, an enlightened thinker, and a unique preacher. He devoted his life to serving Islam and Muslims, spreading moderation and tolerance, and confronting extremist thought with courage and resolve. The governor expressed his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, praying to God Almighty to bestow His mercy upon him and grant him a place in His spacious gardens, and to inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
