Title:Sharkia Governor Follows Up on the Implementation of Demolition Orders in Zagazig
News Date:October 6, 2025
Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, followed up on the implementation of the demolition orders issued by the Committee for Dilapidated Buildings for old buildings on Molid El-Nabi Street in Zagazig, which pose an imminent threat to citizens' lives. He ensured that these buildings were dealt with quickly, emphasizing the need to impose a security cordon and erect a barrier during demolition work to protect lives and property. The governor followed up on the ongoing demolition of an old building on the street, which had been issued a demolition order. He urged the First District Head to quickly evacuate all shops below the buildings subject to demolition orders and close them, while warning their owners to immediately begin demolition work and take all legal action against those who fail to comply. During the Governor's tour of Molid El-Nabi St, he noticed two newly constructed buildings. The Governor immediately instructed the First District Head to review the licenses granted to their owners and take the necessary action in the event of violations. El-Ashmouny also ordered the head of the First District to remove garbage from a vacant plot of land on the street, and to take all legal measures against its owner to prevent it from being fenced off and to preserve it so it does not turn into a garbage dump emitting foul odors that harm the environment and impact the public health of citizens. To facilitate traffic flow on Molid al-Nabi St, the governor led a massive campaign to remove encroachments on the street and oblige shop owners to use the designated spaces, stating that no one will be permitted to encroach on the road's right-of-way and obstruct citizens' movement on the street.
