Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, participated in Zagazig University Council meeting, chaired by Professor Khaled El-Drandali, President of the University. The meeting was attended by Dr. Ihab El-Beblawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Hilal Afifi, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Sayed Salem, Secretary General of the University and deans of faculties in the meeting hall of Zagazig university.

The meeting began with the approval of the previous University Council meeting and the follow-up of the implementation of the taken decisions in the previous session. The meeting was followed by a discussion of the Council's agenda, which included a presentation of the university's faculties' preparations for the new academic year 2025/2026, as well as discussing the  topics related to the financial affairs, the faculty and student affairs, the graduate studies and research, in order to take the appropriate decisions that serve the public interest and produce graduates capable of working, building and contributing in creating a brilliant future for the nation.

The Governor of Al-Sharkia congratulated the President of Zagazig University, the university's vice presidents, faculty members, support staff, administrators and students on the occasion of the new academic year 2025/2026, wishing everyone success and leadership.

The Governor affirmed his commitment to provide full support to Zagazig University to enable it to continue fulfilling its scientific and medical mission to serve the people of the governorate as a key partner in development and supporting the implementation of the service and development projects in the governorate.

For his part, the President of Zagazig University welcomed the Governor of Al-Sharkia for his eagerness to participate in the University Council meeting and cooperate with the university to overcome any obstacles that face the ongoing projects, especially the university's new Al-Salam Hospital. He emphasized the continued cooperation and coordination between the university and the governorate to implement and support development plans across all the service and development sectors to improve the level of the services which are provided to the people of Al-Sharkia.
