Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, stressed the need to intensify inspection campaigns and surprise inspections of markets, shops, factories, and bakeries to ensure the validity of products on display and their compliance with standard specifications and health requirements. This is to ensure that commercial activities are managed with legal licenses from the relevant authorities, and to enforce the law against violators.
In this context, Dr. Magdy El-Hosary, Head of the Regional Branch of the Environmental Affairs Agency in Sharkia and Ismailia, explained that a committee has been formed from the Waste Department of the Sharkia Branch, in cooperation with the General Administration of Environmental and Water Police in Cairo, to conduct a surprise inspection of a used car oil recycling plant in the Belbeis Industrial Zone.
The committee's work resulted in the seizure of the factory, which was found to be operating without an operating license. The following environmental violations were identified:
· Failure to obtain an operating license from the Waste Management Regulatory Authority
· Lack of records for the safe disposal of hazardous waste
· Lack of protective equipment for workers
· Operating the factory in an unsanitary manner
· Lack of an environmental record
The necessary legal measures were taken, and Report No. 21388 was filed in Belbeis Misdemeanors. The defendants are being referred to the Public Prosecution Office for necessary legal action. |
