Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharkia, inspected the work on modifying the diameter of the rainwater drainage line in the Orabi Tunnel in Zagazig City.

This was done to monitor performance and remove any obstacles facing the company assigned to implement the work, ensuring its rapid completion. Engineer Ayman Khairy, Head of Zagazig City Sector at the Drinking Water and Wastewater Company, provided a detailed explanation to Governor of Sharkia about the nature of the ongoing work.

He noted that the diameter of the rainwater drainage line in the Orabi Tunnel in Zagazig City is being modified to 10 inches, with a length of 300 meters. A calming chamber and a 50-meter slope are also being constructed to ensure rapid drainage and smooth traffic flow in the tunnel, especially during heavy winter rains. He noted that all work is scheduled to be completed by the end of this week.

The governor instructed the head of Zagazig Center, in coordination with the head of the First District, to follow up on the company assigned to implement the work and remove any obstacles, while obligating it to adhere to standard specifications and the specified timetable.

The governor directed traffic officers to remove vehicles present at the site of the work and relocate them to another location to preserve them and create a suitable environment for the contractor to carry out its work without causing traffic congestion in the area.
