As part of his ongoing monitoring of the regular operation of government hospitals and medical service outlets, Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Sharqia, conducted an inspection tour of Zagazig General Hospital to assess the level of health and treatment services provided to patients and visitors.

The tour was attended by Mr. Mohamed Nema Kojak, Assistant Secretary-General of the Governorate, Dr. Hani Gamaa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Mohamed Yahya, Director of the Hospital Administration.

The Governor began his tour by inspecting the reception and emergency department, checking on the health cases visiting the X-ray and radiology rooms. He inquired about the quality of services provided, wishing them a speedy recovery.

The governor also monitored patients in the cardiovascular, intensive care, cardiac catheterization, and open-heart departments. He learned from the staff about the department's procedures for handling medical cases and how to provide first aid and treatment, he also ensured the availability of the necessary medications and medical supplies to provide excellent medical services. From inside the cardiac catheterization department's control unit, the governor of monitored the procedure to insert a stent and remove a heart clot from a patient suffering from a blocked coronary artery. He praised the skill of the medical teams in charge of the department and wished all patients a speedy recovery and to leave the hospital as soon as possible after they have recovered.

Dr. Hani Gamea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, explained that, as part of improving the efficiency of medical services provided to patients in the governorate's health hospitals and continuing the success of the state-funded treatment system, the medical team at the Cardiac Catheterization Department at Zagazig General Hospital has, since the department's establishment, performed more than 3,000 operations, installed stents, and removed clots. These operations were performed based on the medical diagnosis of each case and after conducting the necessary examinations and x-rays.

The governor engaged in a calm dialogue with a number of patients in the intermediate intensive care unit, inquiring about the level of healthcare and treatment provided to them. He recommended that hospital staff, including doctors and nursing staff, treat patients and visitors well and provide them with all necessary healthcare and treatment options. The governor emphasized that advancing the health sector is a top priority at the present time, with the goal of achieving a healthy and sound society. He noted that the governorate is striving to secure the necessary financial allocations to equip hospitals and service development outlets with all modern medical equipment to provide patients with the highest level of healthcare and treatment.
