Title:Al-Sharkia Governor congratulates the Christian brothers on Christmas

Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al-Sharkia, visited Zagazig Archdiocese to congratulate His Eminence Bishop Timothy, Bishop of Zagazig and Minya al-Qamh, and the Christian brothers on the occasion of Christmas.

The Governor stressed that the unity and cohesion of the Egyptian people, Muslims and Christians, represents the basic guarantee for overcoming the challenges and difficulties facing us and leading the country to a better future, pointing out that the manifestations of friendliness and brotherhood during various holidays and occasions are an epic spirit of national participation among the fabric of one nation.

Governor of Al-Sharkia said that this stage represents for us writing a new history for our beloved Egypt, which we dream of despite the challenges and circumstances that the country is going through, stressing that we are determined to move forward towards doing more work to improve all services provided to citizens in various service and development sectors.

For his part, His Eminence Bishop Timothy, Bishop of Zagazig and Minya Al-Qamh, explained that the spirit of love, brotherhood, cohesion and respect that prevails between Egyptians, Muslims and Christians, on various occasions will remain a sign of the strength and durability of the relationship that brings us together, as we are partners in one homeland, on whose land we live, take shade under its sky, and work for its development and prosperity.

Governor of Al-Sharkia also visited the Evangelical Church in Zagazig, and met with Pastor Wael Nashaat, pastor of the Evangelical community, to congratulate him on Christmas, saying, “Egypt will continue to bear the banner of religious and human tolerance and uphold the principle of citizenship and respect for others, and we will remain on our path towards achieving the desired development and raising the status of the nation.”

Governor of Al-Sharkia went to visit the Catholic Church in Zagazig, and met with Father Bishoy Kamel, the pastor of the church, to congratulate him on the Merry Christmas, praying to God Almighty to return that occasion to our dear Egypt with all goodness, love, security, peace, progress and prosperity, and to preserve our dear Egypt’s security and stability under the wise leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi President of the Republic.

The pastor of the Catholic Church presented a book to the governor of the Eastern Province, entitled The Christian Education of the Catholic Church, as an expression of his happiness for his visit to the church and to congratulate him and the Christians on the occasion of Christmas. The governor expressed his sincere wishes that the new Gregorian year will be a year of happiness, goodness, and safety for all Egyptians at home and abroad, and a year of progress, progress, and prosperity for all parts of the country.
