Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al-Sharkia, made an inspection visit to the village of Al-Mashhadi, affiliated with the Presidency of the Center and the city of Zagazig, in order to follow up on pottery making projects in manufacturing workshops, learn about the stages of production, identify the most prominent challenges and obstacles facing the industry, and provide the necessary solutions for them.

Governor of Al Sharkia confirmed that the state attaches great importance to encouraging industry and strives to provide all aspects of support to owners of medium, small and micro enterprises and handicrafts and heritage in order to advance investment and create new job opportunities for young people that contribute to raising the standard of living, improving income and achieving a decent life for them.

The governor was keen to inspect the pottery manufacturing workshops and kilns and learned about the production stages, starting from the clay soil testing stage all the way to the final products, which include (qolla – Al- ziyar - the jug – Al- zaalaa - the drum - the watering cans), praising the quality of the products, which express the authenticity and nobility of the Egyptian heritage.

The governor met with a number of pottery project owners to learn about the most prominent challenges they face, including the lack of natural gas delivery to the village - licensing procedures - the high cost of electric kilns, in addition to meeting civil and environmental protection requirements.

Governor of Al-Sharkia stressed the need to develop the industry and search for alternative ways to preserve the environment and the health of citizens by establishing modern furnaces that operate with natural gas, stressing that the head of the center will coordinate with the gas company to quickly deliver natural gas to the village and benefit from it in this important heritage industry in a way that ensures the employment of new labor that contributes to Reducing the problem of unemployment and improving income levels.
