Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al-Sharkia, stressed the importance of the wheat crop, which is considered one of the most important strategic crops in the governorate due to its nutrient importance as being the raw material for many food industries and a major commodity in internal and external trade.

On her side, Ms. Fayza Abdel Rahman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, clarified that the total amount of what has been supplied of Wheat today reached 24,093 tons and 332 kilos to 56 storage sites within the governorate.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply explained the need for the marketing agencies to commit to the immediate payment to farmers who supplies the wheat of 2024 harvest season, within a maximum of 48 hours from the date of receipt.

The governor appealed to the farmers to supply the wheat to the silos and barns which are specified for this purpose to prevent losses, as he stressed that the state is sparing no effort in caring for the farmers and providing them with all the facilities from the beginning of the harvest until the supply of the crop.
