Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al-Sharkia, confirmed that the governorate pays attention to the sports sector and athletes and strives to provide all aspects of material and moral support to achieve local and international championships, saying that Al-Sharkia Governorate’s leadership in hockey is due to the effort expended and the outstanding performance of the technical and administrative staff and the players of the Al-Sharkia Hockey Club team, until hockey became a source of joy and happiness for the people of the governorate. The governor expressed his happiness at the continued excellence of Al-Sharkia hockey team at the local and continental levels, achieving championships, achievements and victories to delight the people of the governorate, calling for the need to search for unconventional methods to develop the club’s resources and establish sports academies to maximize resources and improve the level of services provided to members of the General Assembly.. Ghorab praised the loyal people of Al-Sharkia, including representatives and businessmen, who are keen to support Al-Sharkia Sports Club and provide all aspects of support to the club to ensure the participation of the teams in various tournaments, stressing that the governorate will spare no effort in supporting Al-Sharkia Sports Club, as it is a sporting and social edifice that the people of the governorate are proud of and is considered an outlet for them to spend their free time and practice their sports, cultural and social activities For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Azim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth& Sports, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the governor of Al-Sharkia for his constant and continuous support for the youth and sports sector and his support for all youth activities and initiatives, as well as the continued support for Al-Sharkia Sports Club with its sports, cultural and social activities and for working to overcome all obstacles to improve the sports system within the corridors of the club to make people happy and to achieve more victories and championships in the sports sector. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports indicated that the Ministry provided financial support to Al- Sharkia Sports Club in the amount of one million pounds in order to support hockey within the club and various activities, to continue winning championships and achieving achievements to make the people of the governorate happy. While Dr. Hamdi Marzouk, chairman of Al Sharkia Sports Club, expressed his happiness for the governor’s sponsorship of the club’s celebration honoring the contributors from the people of the governorate to the achievements of the African Championships, saying, “We came today carrying a message of love from the members of the General Assembly of Al Sharkia Governorate for its permanent and continuous support for the club, improving all social and cultural services, and achieving more achievements.” The chairman of Al- Sharkia Club praised the coordination and cooperation with the governorate and its executive body to overcome all problems and obstacles facing the club, as well as maximizing its resources in order to achieve stability within the club and advance services supporting the members of the General Assembly. The celebration included a presentation of a documentary film highlighting the most important achievements of the Al- Sharkia Sports Club team in various individual and team games and hockey, including obtaining the women’s general league shield, obtaining the Oscar for the best team in Africa, and winning the African Club Championship Cup for the 27th time, to remain on the throne of the game on the African continent, as well as areas of investment and development that the club is witnessing to maximize resources and provide distinguished services to members of the General Assembly.
