Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al-Sharqia, sent a congratulatory telegram to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Mark, on the occasion of Christmas, which said: “I am pleased and honored to send to Your Holiness, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Sharqia, my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Christmas... Praying to God Almighty to return it to your Holiness and the Christian brothers with all goodness and peace and to protect Egypt and its people from all harm and evil.” The governor also sent cables of congratulations to Dr. Reverend Andre Zaki, head of the Evangelical community in Egypt, Bishop Ibrahim Ishaq, Patriarch of the Catholic Church in Cairo, His Eminence Bishop Salib, Bishop of Mit Ghamr, the Minister of State for Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, the governors of Damietta and Ismailia, the Christian brothers in the governorate, and all Christian brothers on the occasion of Christmas.

Governor of Al-Sharqia affirmed that the nation always defies difficulties and confronts challenges with the strength of unity and harmony among the Egyptian people, Muslims and Christians, in one cohesive national fabric, calling on God Almighty to return that occasion to our dear Egypt with all goodness, love, security, peace, progress and prosperity, and to preserve our dear Egypt’s security and stability under the wise leadership to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
